5.1 million students undertook nationally recognised VET in Australia in 2024, the highest level since the Total VET Activity collection began in 2015 (source: NCVER, students enrolled in nationally recognised training continue to grow, 2025). Adult and community education (ACE) providers sit inside that system as a recognised provider type, delivering to learners who are often out of work, returning to study or building employability skills. Under the outcomes-focused 2025 Standards for RTOs, providers are judged on the quality of outcomes they deliver, at exactly the moment the labour market is making those outcomes harder to reach.
Adult learning is broad and mainstream in Australia: 34% of people aged 15 to 74, around 6.8 million people, took part in study or training in the previous 12 months (source: ABS, Work-Related Training and Adult Learning, 2024-25). Within the funded system, 1.2 million students undertook government-funded VET in 2024, delivery that explicitly includes community education providers alongside TAFEs and private RTOs (source: NCVER, government-funded VET data, 2025). For an adult education provider the constraint is rarely demand for training, it is access to genuine, still-open vacancies to move completers into.

Registered training organisations are required by law under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 to disclose enrolment data to NCVER, and the National VET Data Policy obliges every RTO to give students the mandatory Privacy Notice at enrolment and to acknowledge a VET Data Use Statement when submitting data (source: DEWR, National VET Data Policy).
The 2025 Standards for RTOs, in effect since 1 July 2025, are outcomes-focused and judge providers on the quality of outcomes delivered to students and employers (source: ASQA, 2025 Standards for RTOs). Right-to-work and employment checks remain the hiring employer's responsibility, not the job board's, and learner data should only ever be matched to genuine, employer-direct vacancies rather than passed to third-party aggregators. This is context, not legal advice.
This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer story. An Australian community education provider running an employability course stands up a branded job board on day one and invites each learner as they enrol. Instead of emailing job links, staff watch an employer-direct feed match learners to live, relevant roles, and see application and interview activity per cohort. When outcomes evidence is needed, the provider exports job outcomes by cohort rather than chasing screenshots at the end.
With learner-level data. Spacewalk tracks registrations, board usage, applications, interviews and job outcomes per cohort, so you can show what happened to your learners rather than a summary of training hours, which matters under the outcomes-focused 2025 Standards for RTOs.
The share of qualification completers with an improved employment status after training fell to 62.4% in 2025 as unemployment rose. Starting job search early, alongside training rather than after it, gives learners more of the outcome window to land a role.
From an employer-direct stream of verified, active roles with direct apply links, matched to each learner's skills, level and location. Your team can also post roles or invite employers to post, but the vacancies are not scraped from job boards or aggregators.
Yes. Each provider gets its own branded board, so the experience carries your organisation's brand rather than a generic job site.
No. Right-to-work and employment verification stays with the hiring employer. Spacewalk connects learners to live vacancies and tracks their progress.
The National VET Data Policy governs the mandatory Privacy Notice at enrolment and the VET Data Use Statement, and RTOs must disclose enrolment data to NCVER under the National VET Regulator Act 2011. In practice that means clear privacy information, data minimisation and defined handling for learner records.
