FOR JOB SEEKERS

Get matched to roles through a community you are already part of

How to make the most of the job board hub you have been invited to
The basics

What this is

A careers hub is a branded job board or talent marketplace run by an organisation you are connected to. It connects you to roles that are relevant to what you actually do, instead of leaving you to search everything, everywhere, on your own.

  • Run by your training provider, alumni network, professional association or an organisation that wants you in its talent pool
  • Free for you, because the organisation running the hub is the paying customer
  • Roles are shaped around your community rather than the whole market
  • Set up your profile once and get matched from then on

Why join

Free for you to join and use for as long as you want it.

Get matched to roles that fit your skills

Your profile is matched against the skills and requirements on every role, so relevant work finds you.

See a relevant feed, not everything at once

Roles on your hub are shaped around your community, so there is far less to wade through.

Only hear about what suits you

Filter by what matters to you and get notified about matching roles, so nothing relevant slips past.

Keep it all in one place

Your applications and your CVs live in one account, on the web and on your phone.

Not looking for work right now? Pause your notifications and everything will be here ready for you if and when you need it again.

Three steps

How it works

1

Join a job board

Use the link the organisation sent you. Depending on the job board, you might join openly, request to join or need an invitation.

2

Create your profile

Add your skills, your work preferences and your CV. It takes a few minutes.

3

View and apply

View and get notified about relevant roles, then apply in seconds and follow every application from one page.

The difference

A fresh alternative to SEEK, Indeed, LinkedIn and large job boards

Those boards are for the mass market. A careers hub is just for you:

  • Curated roles relevant to you, not a sea of listings to wade through
  • Filter by multiple categories including skills to find the perfect fit
If your hub has the automatic job stream switched on, EVERY ROLE:
  • Comes from employers and you'll see roles just listed
  • Is active and verified, with no ghost or stale listings
  • Includes a direct apply link to the employer, never a third party site
  • Is enriched by AI to show experience level and skills required

Your profile

Build your profile

Your profile is what matching runs on, so it is worth a few minutes. The more complete it is, the better and faster your matches.

  • Your skills, plus any certifications or qualifications you hold
  • Your work preferences
  • Your CV, with up to five versions in your CV library
  • Your community's own vocabulary, for example subjects on a tutoring board

Two kinds of ROLE SOURCING

How you will see roles

Hubs are set up differently, so one of these two will be how roles reach you.

If your hub has an automatic job stream

Newly listed roles that fit your hub's criteria appear on the board automatically.

  • Sourced straight from employers
  • Verified and active, with a direct apply link on every role
  • New roles added throughout the day

If you are part of a talent marketplace

Work is published by the organisation running the hub and matched to the members who fit it.

  • Notified the moment a suitable role or brief is published
  • Apply in seconds
  • Among the first to raise your hand, rather than catching it later
Filters

Find roles that suit you

Filter by the dimensions that matter to you, so you only spend time on roles worth applying for.

  • Region within your country, alongside the other dimensions that matter to you
  • Searchable filter lists and a one-tap view of just the filters you have selected
  • Your selections stay in the page address, so you can bookmark a view or send it to someone else
  • Where your hub has the Work Rights Interpreter switched on, filter straight to roles that match your work rights

Work rights reflect what the employer stated on the role. They are not a determination of your legal eligibility to work.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is it free for me?

Yes. Joining a careers hub and using it is free for you. The organisation that runs the hub is the paying customer, not its members.

Who is the organisation that invited me?

An organisation you are already connected to, such as your training provider, alumni network, professional association or an organisation that wants you in its talent pool. The hub carries their branding and they decide who can join it.

Do I have to be invited or can anyone join?

It depends on the hub. Some are public and anyone can join, some are private and you join by invitation or by requesting approval and some are invitation only.

How do I get matched to roles?

Matching compares the skills and preferences on your profile against the skills and requirements on every role. The more complete your profile, the better and faster your matches.

Can I use my own CV?

Yes. You can keep up to five CVs in your CV library and choose which one to submit with each application. Though for roles that direct your application to an external site (eg the employer's website) they may have their own unique application questions.

Will I be told about new roles?

Yes. You get notifications when a suitable role is posted and a weekly email with the opportunities that suit you. Your hub may also post announcements about events and deadlines.

Can I track my applications?

Yes. You have a dedicated page listing all of your applications in one place, with the status of each one for you to easily update, so you can keep your own job search organised.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. It works on the web and on your phone.

Set up your profile once and let relevant roles come to you

If you are hiring rather than looking for work, there is a page for that too.
