Your logo, colours and links, with live previews as you set them up.
Header and footer branding puts your own logo, colours and links across the top and bottom of your job board, with live previews as you set them. Members arriving from your website see one continuous experience. Alumni networks and associations get a careers hub that reads as part of the institution rather than a third-party tool.
What the branding controls cover
Header and footer settings live in their own Branding sections, and each one previews as you change it, so you are not publishing to find out what it looks like.
- Choose between a square company logo and a wide header image, with control over positioning.
- Set header and footer colours to your own palette.
- Add your own header and footer links, for example to your website, resources or contact addresses, with drag and keyboard reordering.
- Custom links stay neatly centred and open in new tabs, so members do not lose the board when they follow one.
- The "Powered by Spacewalk" footer marking inherits your colours rather than sitting there in a foreign palette.
- Social share images are generated for every role, open, closed or archived, with the employer's logo included.
What it means for your community
Members are being asked to trust a new destination with their job search. Anything that reads as a detour to somebody else's software costs you a proportion of them at exactly the moment you were trying to bring them in.
For an alumni network the join is usually a link from an alumni portal or a newsletter. If the board that opens carries the institution's marque, colours and a link back to the alumni pages, it reads as another room in the same building. If it does not, it reads as an outsourced list and gets treated accordingly. The share images matter here too, because alumni forward roles to each other constantly and a shared link that renders properly, with the employer's logo on it, carries the institution's credibility with it.
A professional association has the same problem sharpened by subscription economics. Members expect tangible career value for a fee, and a careers hub that looks like part of the association is part of what they are paying for. One that looks generic quietly makes the case that the association is just reselling something.
What it means for your team
Marketing gets to sign it off before anyone sees it. Live previews mean the header can be checked against brand guidelines during setup rather than in a screenshot after launch, which is usually where these conversations go wrong.
Custom links also mean the board can point back into things you already have rather than duplicating them. A CV guide, an events page or a contact address sits in the footer instead of being rebuilt inside the board. Branding covers your access controls too, so a member turned away from a restricted role sees your brand on the explanation rather than a bare error.
Deeper white labelling sits on the Scale plan, which adds a custom domain with SSL, branded header and footer and emails sent from your own domain. The pricing page lists what falls under each plan, correct as at July 2026.
Do we need a designer to set this up?
No. The settings are colour pickers, an image upload and a list of links, and each previews live as you change it. Most teams have the header and footer looking right inside the same session they set up the board, which is part of why a board goes live in about an hour. If you do have brand guidelines, having the hex values to hand is the only preparation worth doing.
Getting started
Header and footer settings are under Manage Company in the Navigation and Branding areas. The marketplace admin guide walks through the branding tab with the live preview visible, and the knowledge base covers image sizes. The changes are recorded in the header and footer branding changelog entry.
If a branded hub is the main thing you are buying, the job board for alumni networks and job board for membership organisations pages cover it in more depth. Spacewalk runs a 14-day free trial with no credit card required.
