How the job stream keeps your members seeing fresh roles

Roles arrive on your board automatically, verified and employer-direct.

The job stream fills your job board with live roles automatically. It sources openings directly from employers, pulls out the skills and requirements in each one and publishes those that match your board's criteria, refreshed throughout the day. Skills bootcamps and member associations get a board that is never empty, without anyone posting a role by hand.

What changed in the job stream

The job stream is the automated role supply behind a Spacewalk job board. Over the last year the work has gone into two things, deciding which roles belong on your board and making each one worth reading when it arrives.

The scoping changed first. Your board's field of work is now the primary gate on what comes in, with exclusions refining the edges rather than doing the heavy lifting. Imports can also be targeted by language and by several industry sectors at once.

  • Roles come from employers directly, so every one is verified and active with a direct apply link. No ghost roles and no links back to aggregators.
  • Brand-new roles carry a "Just Listed" badge, and roles past a maximum age you set are pruned nightly.
  • Each imported role is enriched. Skills and requirements are extracted from the description, a short synopsis is written and the employer's logo is applied automatically.
  • Skill extraction preserves regional spellings, so a British board does not end up with Americanised skill names.
  • Roles already imported for your board are not imported again.
  • Transient upstream failures retry on their own, so a bad hour at a source does not leave a gap on your board.

Coverage now runs to more than 60 countries.

What it means for your community

Members see roles that are current and relevant rather than a page that fills up when somebody remembers to post. Because every role has been enriched to the same shape, they are comparable and filterable instead of a wall of pasted job adverts of wildly different quality.

Take a skills bootcamp running a data cohort and a software cohort. Placement rate is the number funders, learners and accreditors judge the programme on, and sourcing live relevant roles for every cohort by hand is constant work that never finishes. With the job stream scoped to each board's field of work, roles matching each cohort's skills arrive on their own, and the match emails that go out carry role-type badges, employer logos and matching-skill pills so a learner can see at a glance why something was sent to them.

A professional association has a different problem with the same shape. Members expect tangible career value from membership, and a stale jobs page quietly undermines the case for renewing. An always-fresh, niche-relevant careers hub under the association's own brand becomes a standing reason to stay a member.

What it means for your team

The sourcing work stops being a weekly task. Roles arrive, get enriched and get published without an admin touching them, which frees the team to do the part that actually needs a person, helping members prepare for interviews and giving career advice.

You keep full control. Admins set the criteria, and you can still post your own curated roles at any time. The stream runs alongside what you post rather than replacing it. Active customers report a 50% average increase in job board activity after launch.

The job stream is an optional add-on at £39 per month per category, priced that way on purpose so smaller organisations can run a full-featured board with individual posting and add the stream only where they want it. Details are on the pricing page, correct as at July 2026.

Do admins still need to post roles themselves?

No. Once the job stream is configured for a category, roles arrive and publish on their own, updated through the day. Most admins do still post some roles by hand, usually opportunities from their own employer relationships that would not appear on any public source, and those sit alongside streamed roles on the same board. The stream is there so the board is never empty between them.

Getting started

The job stream is set up per category from Manage Marketplace, where you choose the field of work, sectors and locations that define what belongs on your board. The marketplace admin guide walks through the setup screen by screen, and the knowledge base covers the questions that come up most often. Every change described here is listed in the job stream entries in the changelog.

If you are weighing this up for a training provider or bootcamp, the job board for skills bootcamps page covers the full picture, and there are country-specific pages such as skills bootcamps in the United Kingdom. Spacewalk runs a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, and a board goes live in about an hour.
