A private training establishment's employment outcomes are now both public and financially consequential. TEC publishes educational performance indicators for every funded provider each year, including progression, and reports post-study destinations and earnings at provider level measured 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 years after graduation (source: TEC, data on post-study outcomes for tertiary education graduates, 2026). In 2024 TEC funded 443,490 learners and invested over NZ$3.9 billion across the system, including 198 funded PTEs (source: TEC, Annual Report 2024/25, 2025). Moving learners into genuine jobs is therefore a funding matter, not a marketing one.
New Zealand's tertiary system enrolled 443,490 TEC-funded learners in 2024, split into 112,960 work-based and 337,720 provider-based learners, with TEC funding 198 private training establishments alongside universities, wananga and other organisations (source: TEC, Annual Report 2024/25, 2025). PTEs are regulated separately by NZQA, whose public register lists 211 registered establishments (source: NZQA, register of education organisations, 2026). The registered population and the TEC-funded population are not the same. For a PTE the binding constraint is rarely enrolment demand, it is access to genuine, still-open vacancies that turn a completed programme into a measured employment outcome.

PTEs are registered by NZQA under sections 342 to 361 of the Education and Training Act 2020 and must continue to meet the registration criteria through regular self-review (source: NZQA, registration of a new PTE, 2026). From 1 January 2026 quality assurance runs under the integrated Quality Assurance Framework (iQAF), which replaced external evaluation and review with an annual self-review summary submission to NZQA (source: NZQA, new tertiary quality assurance framework goes live, 2026).
Learner personal information is governed by the Privacy Act 2020, and providers enrolling tertiary, international or work-based learners must be signatories to the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, administered by NZQA (source: NZQA, the Code of Practice, 2026). Candidate data should only ever be matched to genuine, employer-direct vacancies, not passed to third-party aggregators. This is context, not legal advice.
This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer story. A New Zealand PTE running a Level 4 programme stands up a branded job board on the first day of the intake. Instead of emailing job links, tutors watch an employer-direct feed match each learner to live, relevant roles, and see application and interview activity per cohort. When it is time to compile progression and destinations evidence, the provider exports outcomes by cohort rather than chasing screenshots at the end.
TEC publishes educational performance indicators and provider-level post-study destinations and earnings each year. A job board your learners actually use gives you application, interview and outcome data per learner, which supports the progression and destinations picture TEC monitors.
No. External evaluation and review has been retired. From 1 January 2026 quality assurance runs under the integrated Quality Assurance Framework, with an annual self-review summary submitted to NZQA, so older EER category language no longer applies.
Progression is a measured indicator that feeds TEC investment decisions, and providers receiving more than NZ$100,000 of learner component funding must meet tailored performance expectations. Moving learners into genuine jobs is a funding matter, not just a marketing claim.
From an employer-direct stream of verified, active roles with direct apply links, matched to each learner's skills, level and location. Your team can also post roles or invite employers to post, but the vacancies are not scraped from job boards or aggregators.
Yes. Each programme or cohort gets its own branded board, so the experience carries your establishment's brand rather than a generic job site, with every application tracked.
The Privacy Act 2020 governs learner personal information, and providers must also meet the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, administered by NZQA.
